Samarkand – a day trip in pictures

Let’s go! A few weeks ago we decided to go on an organized trip to Samarkand, one of the oldest inhabited cities in Central Asia. Our Community Liaison Office, the CLO, organized everything from booking the train tickets to hiring a guide, chartering a bus and so on. All in all, a great tour and definitely a city we want to come back to. I will spare you a detailed travel report, along with facts and my boring wisdom about this amazing city, and would kindly refer you to the respective Wiki pages, should you seek interest in finding out more about this ancient silk road city. Instead, I thought I’d just post pictures that I took to try to preserve the amazing sights of this place. So, enjoy!

Samarkand – eine Reise in Bildern

  1. What amazing photos…I’m impressed with the modern trains. Looks very high quality, almost European. And need to give a shout out to seeing the “Hawkeye” logo shirt. Please keep on sending these posts. Perry
